Top Arizona Exemptions

Arizona's Homestead is $414,800 in equity.  Beware!  There are limits and exceptions.  Discuss with your attorney.

Your equity in one Motor Vehicle is $15,600. You get $26,000 for a motor vehicle if you have disability placard.

Up to $15,600 in household goods.

Clothing is exempt up to $500.  Side note- I have never had one client lose any clothing item(s) to the Trustee.

This $2000 exemption actually protects a few other assets including a bike, sewing machine and burial plot. 

This exemption protects 100% of your food, fuel and provisions.  The limit is 6 months worth. 

This exemption protects up to $2000 of firearms.

Up to $400 in musical instruments.

Your pets are protected 100%

100% exempt if professionally prescribed.

This exemption protects up to $5000 of tools that you use in your trade.  It includes websites and trade names.  Doesn't include  your motor vehicle.

$5000 is protected if deposited in funeral home trust account.

Up to $5000 in ONE bank account. For example, a Checking and Savings account at same bank you can only protect one and not the other.

You get to keep 100% of any portion of the refundable  child or earned income tax credits.  Timing will be key with this exemption.  Discuss with your attorney.

Up to $20,000 in life insurance paid or payable to a surviving spouse or child if they were dependent on the deceased.
